Karungut is one of the cultural products of Central Kalimantan that can follow the current developments of the times. Because it is a traditional regional art, most of the people interested in karungut are older people. Meanwhile, Gen Z considers karungut to be an ancient art. Gen Z tends to choose new cultures that are considered more practical and dynamic compared to local culture.

Based on the background, the problem raised in this research is how Gen Z understands the moral message contained in a karungut, namely the Antang Ngambun karungut. This study used qualitative research methods. The subjects of this research are Gen Z people who have listened to Antang Ngambun's karungut.

The results of the research show that the Antang Ngambun karungut contains a message of compassion, never giving up and belief in something. These values ​​influence human attitudes and behavior, such as: a) compassion, that Dayak people must do good to others, maintain good relationships with fellow humans, respect and love family, each other and the universe. The Dayak community towards the figure of Antang. b) Never give up, that Dayak people, especially the younger generation, are expected to be able to compete and have an attitude that does not easily give up on the problems they face. c). Trust, Dayak people have a belief system towards figures who are glorified by their community. The figure who is considered a protector and role model for the Dayak people is Antang Ngambun. Gen z understands the moral message contained in the Antang Ngambun karungut.
