Using a qualitative approach and in-depth interviews, the research involved ten respondents selected through purposive sampling. The results indicate that recent communication technologies have a positive impact on social interaction patterns. P2K students actively use WhatsApp groups, Instagram, and other social media platforms to facilitate communication, share information, and form communities. Video calls are considered an effective alternative for face-to-face meetings, especially during the pandemic, and virtual reality is expected to introduce a new dimension to interactions. However, respondents also acknowledge risks, such as addiction, lack of deep interaction, and social pressure from Instagram. Nevertheless, P2K students are perceived as capable of managing technology use wisely and balancing interactions in both the virtual and real worlds. Perceptions of the influence of Instagram on real-world social activities tend to be positive, with awareness of social pressures. Additionally, changes in ethics and social norms are recognized as positive by the majority of respondents, creating opportunities for social equality and inclusivity. P2K students are considered capable of maintaining a balance between social interactions in the virtual and real worlds while remaining active in campus activities and face-to-face meetings. Thus, this research provides an in-depth insight into how recent communication technologies shape social interaction patterns among P2K students, considering both the positive impacts and associated risks.
2023-05-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2023 Lisnawatihttps://journal.umpr.ac.id/index.php/jtik/article/view/7398LONG-DISTANCE COMMUNICATION PATTERNS BETWEEN PARENTS AND CHILDREN (AMONG COMMUNICATION STUDENTS OF MUHAMMADIYAH UNIVERSITY OF PALANGKA RAYA ORIGINATING FROM KATINGAN DISTRICT)2024-06-20T07:53:48+00:00Sirajul Rahmansirajulrahman1972@gmail.com
Abstract

Communication patterns are forms or relationships between two or more in the process of sending and receiving messages. In everyday life, everyone communicates with their surrounding environment, such as friends and family. Communication between parents and children in close relationships can run smoothly because communication is done every day. It is different if the communication carried out by parents and children is long distance, it cannot be denied that the intensity of communication between parents and children becomes rare. This is proven by the long-distance relationships experienced by students at Muhammadiyah University of Palangkaraya who come from Katingan Regency. Due to the difference in distance, communication between parents and children is no longer face-to-face but rather uses media as a link for their communication.

Then the main problem is what is the pattern of long-distance communication between parents and children to improve the relationship between students and female students who come from Katingan Regency? What are the obstacles to long-distance and children in improving the relationship between students and students at Muhammadiyah University of Palangkaraya who come from Katingan Regency? Furthermore, the method used in this research is a type of field research. The nature of this research is descriptive qualitative, which aims to conduct discourse

analysis on communication patterns and long-distance barriers between parents who live in Katingan Regency or in villages and their children who study at Palangkaraya Muhammadiyah University in improving friendship. And the data collection methods that the author uses in this research are interviews, observation and documentation.

The findings in the research show that the communication patterns used by students or female students towards their parents are more dominant towards consensual communication patterns, namely communication patterns that emphasize harmonious relationships and open communication between each other, as evidenced by the results of interviews with students and female students from from Katingan Regency, some of whom use consensual communication patterns, because the intensity of their conversations with their parents occurs almost every day. The barriers to long-distance communication between parents and children in improving ties are technical barriers, semantic barriers and human barriers.
2023-05-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2023 Sirajul Rahmanhttps://journal.umpr.ac.id/index.php/jtik/article/view/7399SEMIOTIC ANALYSIS OF THE MEANING OF MORAL MESSAGES IN THE LYRICS OF THE SONG GHEA INDRAWARI TITLE "THE SAD SOUL" (BASED ON CHARLES SANDERS PIERCE'S SEMIOTIC THEORY)2024-06-20T09:02:54+00:00Sirajul Rahmansirajulrahman1972@gmail.com
Abstract

This research was motivated by the high level of mental health disorders in Indonesia, as revealed in the 2018 Basic Health Research by the Ministry of Health. Although approximately 9.8% of the population lives with an “emotional mental disorder,” only 6.1% of them are undergoing medical treatment. This phenomenon indicates the need for alternative solutions to overcome this problem. The research results show that the lyrics of this song convey a message about caring, support and honesty in sharing life's burdens with others. The conclusion of this research is that the moral message in the song "Jiwa Yang Bersedih" can be understood through the interpretation of the signs and symbols contained in the linguistic structure and symbolism of the song. Semiotic analysis opens a window to understand the meaning hidden behind words and see how Ghea Indrawari conveys a moral message by using semiotic elements in the song's lyrics.
2023-05-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2023 Sirajul Rahman
