Main Article Content
Abstract
Village transformation towards the digital era demands integrating digital technology with active community participation in local resource management. The Waste Awareness Movement program in Sekaran Village, Siman District, Ponorogo Regency, East Java, Indonesia, is a community service effort designed to increase community awareness and participation in community-based waste management. The goal is to develop a model for implementing community-based digitalization through a waste-awareness movement. The method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR), involving village residents as the primary subjects in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the digitalization program. Activities included education, infrastructure provision, training, and community empowerment, as well as the application of innovative technology through the Waste Bank Application and organic processing. The results reduced waste volume, improved household waste-sorting practices, and opened new economic opportunities through the waste bank and recycled products. The Waste Bank Application increased environmental awareness, strengthened collaboration, and created a more effective and sustainable waste management system. Analysis shows that the program's success depends on a combination of education, economic incentives, and technology. This program demonstrated positive impacts on the environment, public health, and the quality of village agriculture, contributing to waste reduction and also encouraging the formation of a circular economy.
