Arathia: Journal of Islamic Elementary Education and Culture Based Education is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing high-quality, innovative empirical and theoretical research at the intersection of Islamic primary education and ethno-pedagogy/culture-based education. The journal aims to provide an international platform for scholars, researchers, and educational practitioners to discuss, advance, and disseminate transformational practices that synthesize Islamic values, local wisdom, and modern pedagogical frameworks in elementary education settings.

Scope

The journal welcomes original research articles, systematic literature reviews, and critical meta-analyses covering, but not limited to, the following themes:

  • Islamic Primary Pedagogy and Curriculum Design: Innovations in teaching methodologies, curriculum integration, holistic learning models, and instructional strategies tailored for elementary-level Islamic schools.

  • Culture-Based Education and Ethno-Pedagogy: The integration of local wisdom, indigenous knowledge, cultural heritage, ethno-mathematics, and ethno-science into primary school learning environments.

  • Culturally Responsive and Inclusive Islamic Education: Approaches to fostering multicultural awareness, global citizenship, tolerance, and inclusive practices within faith-based primary institutions.

  • Moral, Spiritual, and Character Development: Psychological, social, and spiritual growth of primary school children through Islamic character building and value-based education.

  • Elementary Teacher Education and Professional Development: Initial teacher preparation, continuous professional development, identity construction, and teaching competencies for elementary educators (SD/MI).

  • Digital Transformation and Educational Technology: The development, application, and assessment of digital tools, AI applications, educational media, and blended learning solutions in Islamic and culture-based elementary settings.

  • Educational Leadership, Policy, and Governance: Policy analysis, institutional leadership, school culture development, and administrative management in primary Islamic educational institutions.
