Main Article Content
Abstract
The ability to write academically in English is an essential skill that remains a challenge for many high school students. This community service program aimed to enhance students' academic writing literacy at SMAN 2 Purwokerto through an essay-writing project. The participants were tenth- and eleventh-grade students who attended five 90-minute training sessions. The implementation methods included program socialization, basic essay writing training, guided writing practice, and the integration of digital technology to support the writing process. Each training session was conducted interactively through theoretical presentations, discussions, group work, and hands-on essay writing practice. The results indicated improvements in students' ability to organize logical ideas, write coherently, and express their opinions with greater confidence. A comparative analysis between the pre-test and the final essay also revealed that the majority of students showed progress in essay structure, the use of quotations, and confidence in writing. This program concludes that project-based training proved effective in enhancing students' academic writing literacy while also providing a more meaningful and applicable learning experience.
