Main Article Content
Abstract
Burai Village is one of the villages developed by Universitas Sriwijaya. One of the factors supporting the development of Burai Village into a Tourism Village is its traditional characteristics, such as culinary tourism and souvenirs made from processed fish products, including kerupuk, kemplang, pindang, tekwan, and pempek. In addition, fish products that can be developed in Burai Village include frozen foods such as nuggets and kaki naga. The processing and marketing of fish products from Burai Village are not yet supported by adequate packaging, which creates challenges for development, sustainability, and marketing. This community service activity aimed to improve the Burai Village community's knowledge, understanding, and skills in packaging technology for processed fish products. The method used was a lecture method, which involves the delivery and explanation of material accompanied by discussion and practical training in packaging processed fish products. The results showed that this activity could improve the understanding, knowledge, and skills of the Burai Village community, especially the women who are the target audience, regarding fish product packaging technology. There was a 61.25% increase in the target audience's understanding after the presentation of material on fish product packaging technology.
