Main Article Content
Abstract
SD Muhammadiyah 3 Denpasar, located in Tegal Kertha Village, Denpasar City, is a school situated in a densely urbanized area with limited green space, resulting in students having minimal exposure to farming activities and environmental education. Rapid urban development has reduced available green spaces and limited children's engagement with natural food systems, highlighting the need for practical, applicable education from an early age. This activity aimed to improve elementary school students' understanding of urban farming as part of environmental education. The method used was participatory socialization through material presentations, audiovisual media, and interactive discussions, with assessment conducted through pre-tests and post-tests. The results showed significant improvements across all indicators: urban farming definition from 25% to 83%, benefits from 33% to 83%, basic concepts from 17% to 75%, and plant examples from 33% to 92%. The activity fully achieved its objectives, as evidenced by all comprehension indicators reaching at least 75% on the post-test and by high levels of active student participation throughout the activity.
