Abstract
This community engagement activity aimed to improve medicinal plant literacy of binahong (Anredera cordifolia) among Grade IV students of SD Inpres Fatukoa, Maulafa District, Kupang City, through interactive socialization sessions and illustrated storybooks. The activity was held on May 12, 2026, at SD Inpres Fatukoa, with approximately 100 students participating. The methods employed included the presentation of materials using illustrated storybooks, interactive discussions, and reflective activities. Evaluation was conducted using pre- and post-tests on medicinal plant literacy, which showed an average increase of 72.5% from baseline. A total of 100 illustrated storybooks were produced and handed over to the school to support program sustainability. The results demonstrated that an educative approach based on contextual teaching materials was effective in improving medicinal plant literacy among primary school children and in strengthening local capacity to convey scientifically validated traditional knowledge.
