Penerapan Teknologi Tepat Guna pada UMKM Pengolahan Hasil Laut Akhliya Snacks Kabupaten Bangka Application of Appropriate Technology for the Akhliya Snacks Marine-Product Processing MSME in Bangka Regency
Main Article Content
Abstract
This community service program was carried out to address the production and business management problems faced by Akhliya Snacks, a home-based micro, small, and medium enterprise that processes marine products into squid crackers, getas, fish sticks, and other products in Air Ruai Village, Pemali Sub-district, Bangka Regency. Field observations identified three problems in the production aspect: a limited-capacity fish-grinding machine, a low-capacity plastic packaging tool, and an ineffective oil-draining medium, as well as the absence of financial bookkeeping and business promotion media. The activity was carried out through partner needs identification, machine design using computer-aided design software, fabrication at the polytechnic workshop, machine function testing, operational training, and technology dissemination, followed by financial bookkeeping and small business management training. Three units of appropriate technology machines were successfully fabricated, handed over, and their operation was directly trained to the partner. The partner's production capacity increased significantly, processing time became shorter, and product hygiene improved. This program demonstrates that the application of appropriate technology, combined with direct operational training and business management mentoring, can be an effective and replicable empowerment model for micro, small, and medium enterprises in coastal marine-product processing.
