Abstract
Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is essential for establishing healthy habits from an early age; however, school-based health education is often constrained by limited learning media and low student engagement. This community service program aimed to improve elementary school students' knowledge of PHBS by empowering Little Doctors through a PHBS Pocketbook and a PHBS Snakes and Ladders game at MI Miftahul Hidayah, Karangpawitan, Garut. A participatory educational approach was implemented through a baseline knowledge assessment, health education using the pocketbook, a six-step handwashing demonstration, interactive gameplay, and pre- and post-tests for evaluation. Thirty first-grade students participated in all program activities. The findings demonstrated an improvement in participants’ knowledge, with the mean score increasing from 79.77 on the pre-test to 97.13 on the post-test, reflecting a statistically significant difference (p < 0.001). In addition, the students showed high enthusiasm, active participation, and the ability to practice clean and healthy living behaviors correctly. These findings indicate that empowering Little Doctors through the integration of a PHBS Pocketbook and a PHBS Snakes and Ladders educational game is an effective, engaging, and practical strategy for improving students' knowledge, supporting the development of healthy behaviors, and strengthening the implementation of the School Health Program in elementary schools.
