Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas VIII E SMP Negeri 13 Banjarmasin dalam pelajaran IPS Terpadu Materi Pokok Penguatan Ekonomi Maritim melalui penerapan model pembelajaran cooperative learning tipe Snowball Throwing. Hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII E SMP Negeri 13 Banjarmasin dalam mata pelajaran IPS Terpadu materi pokok Penguatan Ekonomi Maritim dapat meningkat, hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil belajar siswa selama mengikuti pembelajaran pada pra siklus, siklus I hingga siklus II yang terus mengalami peningkatan. Pada prasiklus rata-rata nilai kelas adalah 60,71 meningkat menjadi 65,89 pada siklus I, dan siklus II mencapai 75,18. Ketuntasan belajar prasiklus 17,9%, pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 32,1%, siklus II ketuntasan belajar meningkat menjadi 89,3%.
