Kampanye Pencegahan Kekerasan Seksual pada Mahasiswa di Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Bandung Sexual Violence Prevention Campaign for Students at 'Aisyiyah Bandung University

Abstract

Sexual violence remains a serious problem that continues to occur in higher education institutions, including at Universitas Aisyiyah Bandung, where 54% of 216 students reported having experienced some form of sexual violence. Limited understanding of the definitions, forms, and reporting mechanisms of sexual violence poses a major challenge to prevention efforts. Therefore, a community service program through a sexual violence prevention campaign was implemented to enhance students' awareness and capacity in creating a safe and inclusive campus environment. The three-month program consisted of three main activities: (1) online counseling and education through animated videos and posters; (2) a digital campaign using a short film uploaded on the university's social media platforms; and (3) student training to become peer educators. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in respondents' knowledge scores, with most students achieving higher intervals after the education sessions (50% at score 16 and 38.2% at score 17). The digital campaign proved effective in delivering anti–sexual violence messages through audiovisual media, while the peer educator training generated concrete commitments and follow-up strategies. In conclusion, this program effectively increased knowledge, fostered anti–sexual violence attitudes, and strengthened students' roles as agents of change. Integration of the program into institutional policies and the implementation of continuous evaluation are recommended to ensure sustainable impact.
