Abstract
This community service program (PPM) was motivated by the low mathematical competency among Primary School (SD) students, particularly in grasping abstract concepts. This issue was compounded by outdated teacher-centered learning methods and the limited use of manipulatives, leading teachers to rely heavily on textbooks. To address these challenges and support the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, a team of lecturers from the Basic Education and PGSD programs at Universitas Palangka Raya conducted a Training on Making Manipulation Materials Based on Local Wisdom for teachers at SDN Bukit Liti 1, Pulang Pisau Regency. The program utilized a multi-stage method, encompassing preparation, conceptual training, development, simulation, and evaluation and reflection, carried out from July to November 2025. The results indicated a highly positive response from the teachers, especially regarding the impact and benefits of the training (score 3.78) and the training material itself (score 3.74). Teachers successfully developed instructional media, achieving the highest scores in the integration of local wisdom (3.94) and alignment with the material (3.89). Furthermore, the media implementation during classroom simulations showed good results in lesson planning (3.89) and media utilization (3.83). While challenges were identified concerning media functionality (3.44) and student order during the simulation (3.06), the training effectively enhanced teachers' competence in leveraging local resources to create contextual, meaningful learning experiences that concretize abstract concepts, thereby reinforcing character development and regional cultural understanding.
