Peningkatan Kualitas dan Kuantitas Olahan Kopi Melalui Introduksi Mesin Roaster dan Grinder Pada UMKM Kopi Bakalan Improving the Quality and Quantity of Coffee Products Through the Introduction of Roasting and Grinding Machines at Bakalan Jos Coffee MSMEs
Main Article Content
Abstract
This community empowerment program was conducted to improve the quality and quantity of coffee products at the Bakalan Jos Coffee Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise by introducing roasting and grinding machines. The partner's main constraints included a manual roasting process that led to uneven roast levels, limited production capacity, and reliance on external grinding services, resulting in inefficient production and inconsistent coffee powder particle size. The program employed a participatory approach by involving the partner in problem identification, machine specification selection, technology introduction, training, technical assistance, monitoring, and evaluation. The program enhanced the partner's knowledge and skills in operating and maintaining the roasting and grinding machines while facilitating the direct application of the technology in the production process. The introduced machines produced more uniform roast profiles, more consistent coffee powder particle size, improved coffee flavor, reduced dependence on external grinding services, and enabled a more efficient, independent production process. Overall, the introduction of roasting and grinding machines had a positive impact on improving the quality and quantity of coffee products while strengthening the competitiveness of Bakalan Jos Coffee Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise.
