Pengaruh Waktu Penundaan terhadap Hasil Pemeriksaan Bilirubin Total dengan Metode Diazo Sulfanilat The Effect of Delay Time on Total Bilirubin Examination Results Using the Diazo Sulfanilate Method

Abstract

Examination of total bilirubin is one of the laboratory tests to determine the function of the liver and bile ducts, as well as impaired liver function. A delay in total bilirubin examination can affect the results of the examination. According to Good Laboratory Practice, total bilirubin activity should be checked as soon as possible. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in the results of the examination of total serum bilirubin, which was examined immediately with a delay of 3 days and a delay of 5 days, which was stored at 2-8 oC. The delay in total bilirubin examination with serum samples will be stable if stored at 2-8 oC for 5-7 days. This type of research uses experimental research, the sampling technique used in this study is random sampling, involving as many as 15 samples from students of the Muhammadiyah University of Palangkaraya. Examination of total bilirubin was carried out using the Diazo Sulfanilate method with a Photometer Biosystem 350. The results of the average total bilirubin levels were immediately examined, with a delay of 3 days and a delay of 5 days, namely 0.53, 0.55, and 0.67 (mg/dL, respectively). ). This shows that the longer the delay in total bilirubin examination, the higher the total bilirubin value. Based on the One Way Anova test, the p value = 0.439 showed that there was no significant difference or no effect of time delay on the results of the examination of total bilirubin levels, which were examined immediately, with a delay of 3 days, and a delay of 5 days.
