Borneo Journal of Pharmacy (Borneo J Pharm, ISSN: 2621-4814 (online)) is an international scientific platinum open-access journal managed by the Department of Pharmacy Faculty of Health Science Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya in collaboration with the Central Board of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (Pengurus Pusat Ikatan Apoteker Indonesia) and published four times a year (in February, May, August, and November) onward February 2020 by Institute for Research and Community Services Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya. Borneo Journal of Pharmacy accepts scientific articles as original research articles, short communication, reviews, and mini-reviews from anyone without any discrimination, as long as they submit articles that meet scientific principles.

As a distinctive feature, the Borneo Journal of Pharmacy prioritizes research articles conducted on the island of Borneo (consisting of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei Darussalam) and those conducted by researchers from institutions on the island of Borneo. In every volume, there are always articles written by authors from the island of Borneo. However, articles from researchers outside the island of Borneo are also welcome.

Borneo Journal of Pharmacy publishes various scientific articles covering Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in the fields but not limited to Pharmacology-Toxicology, including pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacotherapy, and toxicology; Pharmacognosy-Phytochemistry, including pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, ethnobotany, and ethnopharmacology; Pharmaceutical, including biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical technology, formulations, and biotechnology; Analytical Pharmacy-Medicinal Chemistry, including pharmaceutical chemistry, chemical analysis, medicinal chemistry, bioinformatics, pharmacy physics, pharmaceutical analysis, and method validation; Microbiology Pharmacy, including the test for antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral activity; Natural Product Development, including testing the pharmacological activity of extracts, fractions, and plant isolates; Clinical-Community Pharmacy, including monitoring usage, side effects, counseling, and evaluation of drug use; Management Pharmacy, including drug management, drug use profiles, pharmaceutical administration, and marketing; and Pharmaceutical Education, including qualitative and quantitative studies related to pharmaceutical education and other human resources in the pharmaceutical sector, such as pharmacists, vocational pharmacy staff, and pharmacy students.

Borneo Journal of Pharmacy provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles published in the Borneo Journal of Pharmacy are open access and free for access as stated in Budapest Open Access Initiative:

"By 'open access' to this literature, we mean its free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. The only constraint on reproduction and distribution, and the only role for copyright in this domain, should be to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be appropriately acknowledged and cited."

Editors accept submissions of well-prepared manuscripts not published elsewhere, except for certain sources such as preprints. The manuscript format and requirements are listed on the back cover page. Incoming manuscripts will be evaluated and edited to ensure uniformity of structures, terms, and other writing procedures. Our selective reviewers will review all manuscripts using the double-blind method.

It was first published in 2018 using the Open Journal System (OJS) 3.1. The Borneo Journal of Pharmacy publishes about 40 articles divided into four issues yearly. Authors retain the copyright to the article if it is published in the Borneo Journal of Pharmacy. They also retain the publishing rights to the article without any restrictions.
